The Bridal Solution's Top Things Brides Should Do During the Holidays

Happy Holidays!  Thank you all for making 2012 a year to remember!
Highlights of 2012:
1. Bridal University [coming back February 2014]
3. Traveling to Texas for a Texas-Sized Wedding!
4. Ringing in the New Year with STYLE!
It seems like the holiday's come faster and faster each year.  They sneak up on us, and by the time Christmas arrives, we are left in a whirlwind.  I know for me, the tasks I wanted to complete by New Year's are still on my desk untouched. AND, I bet you're feeling the same way.  In fact, how many of you put your wedding plans on the back burner over the break?  Instead, The Bridal Solution has come up with great tips to keep you having fun on the holidays and get your wedding plans on track!
The Bridal Solution's Top 5 Things Brides Should Do Over the Holiday's

5.  Throw a Wedding Party Soiree
Chances are you'll be hanging out with your close friends anyways during the holidays. Whether you are headed back to your hometown or ringing in the new year, celebrate your engagement with some or all of your Wedding Party!  It's a great chance to get them all together and introduce them if they haven't met before.  Most likely, they will be thrilled to start celebrating the wedding festivities early!

4.  Start Gathering and Organizing Address
If you're sending out Christmas Cards over the holidays, you might as well start collecting the addresses of guests.  Especially if you plan on sending out save-the-date cards.  Get both families involved too!

3. Shop
Yep, you heard right!  SHOP!  Do you know how many great deals go on during the holidays?  Go ahead, buy your wedding party gifts early, and check something off of your checklist!  Last year one of our brides scored monogrammed robes for each of her bridesmaids for only $10 each!  What a steal!

2. Menu Tasting
If you are not sure what you'll be serving for your reception dinner, why not test it out over the holiday's with your family and fiance?  Check out different restaurants who caterer, and pick and choose items on the menu that may pair well together.  You may be surprised what you come up with!

1. Hair & Makeup
Try out different hair styles and makeup techniques before you go to a holiday party!  We all go to so many celebrations, it's the perfect time to try them out.  Figure out what you like, and what would be easy to duplicate for your wedding day.  It's a win-win!

Bridal Bliss :: A New Year's Eve Inspired Photo Shoot

Drum Roll Please ....

We are so excited to debut our New Year's Eve Styled Shoot - Bridal Bliss!
It all started with the linen. From the moment I laid eyes on the thick black & white stripes, I knew I wanted to create a styled shoot solely around it. I brought in a lot of gold tones, and ummm... a lot of glitter!

What better way to ring in the New Year than a little glitz and glam!  To make this styled shoot possible, we brought in the big guns.  All the beautiful images you see are courtesy of Love Tree Studios, a talented team of two women, Jessica & Aubrey.  The shoot took place in Jefferson City at G2 Gallery, Jefferson City's old opera house, now renovated into a stunning venue for brides to hold their ceremonies and receptions.  Flowers were provided by River City Florist, who always seem to produce stunning arrangements for all of our clients.  Cupcakes and Cake were hand selected at HyVee in Jefferson City, Missouri.  Although they were simple, they made a huge impact, and we are so grateful!  We were even lucky enough to have Kelsey Scheuler from Jefferson City to provide her services for hair during the photo shoot. Oh, and she totally kept me sane, Thanks Kelsey!  And finally, our lovely Model, Janna Volmert.  Not only was Janna one of our past clients, but this newlywed, and I do mean NEWlywed designed and created her own bridal gown.  We thank you SO much Janna, you are stunning and truly an incredible designer!

A HUGE thank you to everyone involved and who made this photo shoot possible!

Each place setting was complete with a gold dinner plate framed by a large clear charger.
Gold flateware, gold glittered mason jars with black & white straws and clear stemware completed the setting.  Additional to the place settings, gold mercury votives and gold sequins helped to set the scene.

A few of our favorite details include our white feathers with gold-glittered tips, our hand-designed new years eve stationery suite and our black & white cupcake baker cups.
Oh, and did we mention the glitter!

Real Wedding: Lori & Jeff

This amazing Miami Wedding caught our eye, and we just can't get enough.  The pallet, the flowers and ohhh the venue!  It made it easy to choose this wedding as one of our "Real Weddings" to showcase!

TBS Styled Shoot + Catherine Rhodes Photographry: Winter Escape

We were absolutely thrilled when the ubber talented Catherine Rhodes asked us to be apart of her Winter Escape Styled Shoot this fall.  Her inspiration?   A couple who just said I DO in the middle of the countryside.  Yeah, we can work with that!

It wouldn't have been possible without some amazing Mid-Missouri vendors.  The Bride wore a stunning gown provided by Victoria's Formal Wear and Bridal Boutique.  Jamie from The Directo's Cut Salon lent her services for hair and makeup, and River City Florist provided us with the amazing floral bouquet.

Thank you also to Devon and Emanuel for being incredibly talented models!

I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out!

TBS Inspiration: Mixed Metals

We are loving the look of these mixed-metal weddings.  It's been all the rage this year, and we hope this trend continues in 2013.  It can be subtle or you can really play around with mixing metals through place settings, centerpieces, cake and the food you serve.  Have some fun with it!

TBS Inspiration: Winter Wedding Bouquets

Most people think that if they have a wedding during the winter months, that there are not a lot of options for flowers and bouquet arrangements.  This is just simply not the case.
Some of the most beautiful bouquets are created in the winter.  It's important to work with the elements that are around this time of year, and also, do not get set your sights on one particular flower.

Some of our favorite examples of Winter Wedding Bouquets ...
