New Year's Eve Tablescape via The Bridal Solution :: Hello 2014

Last year, in 2012, we had a record number of visitors to our blog after our debut of our New Year's Eve Tablescape, Bridal Edition, found HERE.  And honestly, we're still swooning over how good the table and bride looked in this photoshoot ... seriously, it's some awesome goodness!

 At the request of some of our loyal readers, we've been at it again!  Although it's not a bridal edition, this gold, bubbly inspired tablescape still takes our breath away!  We're also super excited that because this is in our home, we'll be able to enjoy the fruits of the labor by hosting a progressive dinner that evening with a few our our friends. We're dessert!!

Here's to a New Year, New Goals and More Inspiration in 2014!

Let's Eat Cake

Mmmm cake! We all love this part of the wedding! There nothing more enjoyable than a decadent piece of wedding cake! Whether it’s chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, red velvet, our guests are sure to swoon over this classic wedding tradition. 

Wedding cakes are starting to become much more unique, and almost a piece of artwork for the reception. The wedding cakes are often times being tied into the theme of the wedding, or showing off who the bride and groom are as a couple. When our parents tied the knot there was probably a simple tiered vanilla or chocolate cake with a traditional couple wedding topper sitting on the top! Not to mention the frosting was often times a simple vanilla buttercream! 

Wedding cakes now come in flavors from chocolate-almond cake with chocolate ganache, to coconut cake and lime buttercream. How does hazelnut-almond cake with raspberries and chocolate ganache, or lemon cake with vanilla buttercream sound? Sounds pretty tasty to me! Along with wedding flavors changing, cake toppers are also beginning to get more unique. Often times couples are putting wedding toppers that reflect who they are such as monograms, flowers, beautiful sayings, and even sports figures! 

So when thinking of ways to customize your wedding, don’t overlook this classic aspect of the wedding!

Move Over Cupcakes ...

 Want in on a little secret?  

Say goodbye to cupcakes at your wedding reception, 

and HELLO to Doughnuts!

It's true, brides are going crazy for these tasty treats.  Try them for cocktail hour or a midnight snack served with coffee. Why not make your cake into layered Doughnuts on cake stands, or better yet, why not as passed hor dourves?  Whatever you decide, you're sure to please your guests ... and surprise them too! 

What to take it to another level?  Bring in a pastry chef and make them on the spot to order!

French Cafe Styled Shoot + Lindsey Pantaleo Photography

The anticipation is over ... and let me tell you, it did not disappoint!

 We were so honored earlier this year when Lindsey Pantaleo asked us to be a part of an upcoming Styled Shoot, set for late Winter, early Spring.  We didn't have to think twice about it.  If you've ever met Lindsey you know two things ... #1. She is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet, as well as, down-to-earth and genuine.  and #2. She knows how to rock the camera lens!  Her photos are always amazing, and it's no wonder why she has become so successful running her own photography business!

Participating in the styled shoot was a no brainier!

The Bridal Solution styled the french-cafe shoot with neutral tones and earthy decor pieces that complimented the time of year and venue. 

 

We also paired up with other professional wedding vendors around Mid-Missouri as well, to create a one-of-a kind look for any bride!  The French Cafe Shoot was photographed at Canterbury Hill Restaurant and Winery in Holts Summit, Missouri, overlooking the Capital City.  It was an easy choice for their spectacular views and official grand re-opening!

TBS Inspiration: Coffee Bars at Receptions

On cold weathered day's like these, the thought of coffee bars during the Bride and Groom's Reception sounds almost magical.  But coffee bars aren't just for Winter Weddings, they fit into every season quite nicely.  No matter what time of day or what season you're celebrating, your guests will LOVE the idea of a signature coffee bar at your reception!

Whether you go for a DIY, guests make their own coffee or hire a barista, there are a few items you want to make sure you have on hand.

1.  Make sure you offer your guests a variety of coffee, both regular and decaff.  You can mix it up if you like and include, cappuccinos, espressos, or hot chocolate for the non-coffee lovers. 

2.  Add to the experience by offering a number of flavors and toppings.  Chocolate & whip cream for the mocha lovers, flavored syrups like vanilla and white chocolate.  And don't forget the basics,  your cream and sugar. 

3. If  you follow our weddings at all, this will come as no surprise, plenty of signage!  Make it fun, create something that is similar to your look and inviting to your guests!  Of course, it doesn't hurt to have custom slip covers for your drinks!

4.  And, if you want to kick it up a notch, add some coffee related desserts ... doughnut holes, coffee cakes, etc.  It's a fun, after-dinner bar for all to enjoy! Don't forget the mints :)

TBS Wedding: Abby & Jimmy

It's not too often that I get the pleasure to help plan one of my cherished friends weddings.  I met Abby years ago, and there has been a lot of laughter and memories made between the two of us.  She is a genuine, fun loving and adventurous women.  I am honored to have been apart of her special day.  Thank you Abby!

Abby and Jimmy were married on October 13, 2012 in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Abby & Jimmy's wedding was complete with a parachute, hanging chandelier and rustic three-tiered cupcake stand.  What a fun night it was!  Congratulations Abby & Jimmy!!
