TBS Parties: Outdoor Bonfire Birthday Party

Last night was Braeden's 5th Birthday Party.  I still can not believe how fast he is growing up.  We opted for an outdoor party this year, full of food, fire and friendship.  We started the day off setting up, throwing around the footballs and playing in the creek.  That evening, we cooked hot dogs and s'mores over the fire.

Braeden and I had so much fun putting together our ideas, from the cake and caramel apples to the wooden slabs and tin cans, each detail was carefully accounted for and designed.

The Bridal Solution plans more than just weddings, we create memorable parties as well!

TBS Inspiration: Reception Herbs

Looking for a unique, fresh idea for wedding reception decor? Try incorporating fresh herbs to your decor.  Not only is this extremely GREEN, but it could end up saving you money as well!  As a bonus, put multiple herbs in the center of the guest tables and double them as favors!

These spoons would be great marking each herb or incorporate the bride & groom names on each spoon if your guests are taking them home.

TBS Vendor Spotlight: Howell Family Farms

We are above and beyond excited to be headed down to Texas later this week with SilverBox Photographers for Ginny & David's Wedding!  The Ceremony and Reception location will both be held at the Howell Family Farms in Arlington, Texas.  One of the most beautiful wedding venues in the area!

The beautiful outdoors and mature trees create the perfect backdrop for wedding ceremonies, which is what Ginny & David have opted to do for their evening wedding.  The 10,000 square foot barn is the perfect place for your guests to retire for the reception, with it's charming, rustic-elegance.  Hay-filled stables, well-worn saddles and magnicicent chandeliers are just a few of the reasons why we are SO excited to be traveling to the venue!

Next Stop ... Howell Family Farms!

TBS Tips: Branding Your Wedding

Today, one of the hottest trends for brides & grooms is the idea of "branding" your wedding.  Most couples do this through a custom monogram.  And today, custom means out of the box ideas, new looks and something that others haven't seen before!  The idea then is to use this monogram on everything from invitations to the lighting.  This monogram becomes familiar to guests and easy to recognize as their specific wedding.

When branding your wedding, there are a few things to think about before you start the process.

#1.  Do your research.  What type of wedding are you having?  Does your wedding have a retro feel, or maybe it's extremely modern?  Is it country or black tie?  These are all things to consider, because your wedding logo should reflect the overall feel.  Remember, if you're sending these out with your save-the-dates or invitations, this is likely the first impression people will have of your upcoming nuptials.

#2.  Use fonts which also reflect your wedding theme.  If you're having a Retro, throw-back wedding, you'll want to use a vintage style font. There are plenty of places to find free fonts on line.  Choose a few and see which ones you end up liking best.

#3.  Think outside of the box.  We have all see the stiff 3 letters side-by-side before ... so why not try something different?  Choose a round monogram instead of square, try a distressed look instead of clean lines.  If you're wanting to really "brand" your wedding, you'll need to do something a little bit different.

#4.  Colors ... try to stay fairly basic with your colors.  When you start adding multiple colors, it can become confusing to guests.  I say stick with 2 or 3 .. and personally, I like the more monochromatic look.    Whatever you do, keep it consistent with colors in the wedding.  For instance, if you're doing a white and black themed wedding ... don't have a brown logo :)  Keep it classy & simple friends!

#5.  Once you have created your logo, make sure you really utilize it.  You'll want use it for save-the-dates, invitations, programs, menus, napkins, drinks, favors, and even in your lighting.  We love using special lighting effects to create your monogram on the dance floor ... perfect while you dancing the night away!
